It is a friendly restaurant. The waitresses are nice. The fish (sashimi) was very fresh, but the salmon and tuna were cut in a big chunk (too thick to eat). The the noodles of Nabeyaki Udon were too hard (normally japanese udon should be chewy). The soup of the udon is just a soy sauce soup based with some fish cakes, a shrimp tempura and a fish tempura. The tempura served with the noodles became soggy. The Uni sushi was fresh and the price is good ($6.50 per order). The vegetable tempura dinner is so so. The vegetable tempura were in big chunk, not crispy enough. The sauce of the tempura is okay. I saw other people in the next table who had bento box dinner. Those bento box dinners looked good to me. I was in Shakey's a year ago and it has completely changed, I visited recently with some girlfriends and we had a fantastic meal. The owner has renovated the entire place to give it a 2010 pub look and has still kept the theme of a sports bar. Good job on the reno's, the menu looks great with some of the typical sports pub food such as nachos, hamburgers and wings. However the rest of the menu is quite amazing, from my understanding the waitress mentioned that Chris is a new addition to the staff and is the brother of the owner. He actually is coming from fine dining and is now helping run the kitchen. I will be back again and this time were bringing our husbands. Read more

After Peel Pub sank beneath the waves, me and my buddies had to find a new pub to enjoy. We tried a lot of places out downtown until we found this one. Scotland Yard is pretty awesome. It isn't pretentious or overpriced. It has solid, good pub food and pretty much everything you want to wash it down with. A great place to load up your stomach before a night of partying and dancing. The style is Olde English, but the menu has a good mix of Canadian food too. Chairs and Tables are old world but they are in good shape. Lack of parking is a problem, so if you are on foot this is a much better option. Also, waitresses do have a habit of disappearing, largely because the bar is U-shaped, but my cup has never truly run dry. They take pretty good care of there customers, and I always feel like I get my money's worth. The place can get a little bit rowdy with the mix of locals and tourists, but I've never felt disturbed by the clientale. A pretty fun pub. Get your eats and start your crawl. Read more

The view of the entire city at night was spectacular and everything we ate including the bread (we bought a loaf from them it was so delicious) and the deserts homemade from scratch were mouth watering delicacies...the service was spectacular...the servers were wiping our table for crumbs in between each course. We've been to the Granite Brewery a number of times as the food is always fantastic with generous portions. In addition to the delicious food, they have a good selection of their own brews. We especially enjoyed their Ringwood, a delightful blonde. There are different atmospheres for different tastes, but at the Granite Brewery they have several to choose from. Two excellent patios, a bar, and a family restaurant area, all designed for comfort. The rear patio looks particularly amazing, but as it was raining, we'll just have to wait until next time to try it out. It should also be noted that the Granite Brewery has free parking with easy access. The Granite Brewery gets our highest recommendation and we will be back soon. Read more

We have been here two times for dinner. The atmosphere is good, but a bit tight space to sit. The service is great and fast. The portions were big and the deal it, that you get a complementary delicious set of eggplant dips with bread. The food we had was very tasty and good. I don't recall the menus we had, but I recall that we liked it. All in all a pretty good food with the nice idea of the free appetizers. Always good to just hop in for a good spontaneous dinner.
