I've been to this restaurant twice now and both times the food has been great. But I was there with my husband's family last night for my father-in-law's birthday. My mother-in-law had brought a birthday cake to the restaurant and had asked them to bring it out as a surprise when it was time for dessert. Everything was going great until the server informed my mother-in-law (just before they were about to bring his birthday cake out) that we would be charged $10 just for them to bring it out! We said forget it, and we took the cake home and had it there! We would have ordered coffees and cafe au laits to go with the cake, so they certainly would have made at least another $20 off of that, but it's their loss I guess. So to summarize, the food was excellent as usual, but we were very disappointed that they wouldn't accommodate our birthday cake with out a steep charge - it left a bad taste in our mouth. Read more

We also were treated to a random complimentary amuse-bouche of a pork terrine with caramelized onions on crostini. Vanilla creme brulee was the single best creme brulee I've ever had--PERFECTLY burnt sugar. Truly amazing prices for food this good. ONLY down thought? Dined here yesterday for dinner - the atmosphere was very trendy, gave off a cottage/winter vibe. The menu is simply outstanding, lots of delicious choices to choose from. We opted for wild boar spring rolls, bread + duck confit for our appetizers. Absolutely delicious. For the mains we tried the Game Burger with fries, Roasted Duck and Eggplant puree, and the Wild Mushroom rissotto. The food was delicious, our server Andrew was extremely attentive to our table, and the atmosphere is great. BEST PHO IN ALL OF TORONTO! Their beef noodle broth is just stupendous! It doesn't contain as much fat and oil as you would expect from other restaurants which is really good! This is probably the only pho restaurant i would recommend to anybody. Though the atmosphere is not like a 5 star restuarant, the food sure makes up for it. I have noticed that the degree of how spicey the wings are can vary on any given day. My only gripe about this joint is that they have the shoe string fries & I personally like the thick cut fries to compliment my wings. As a man who has been chompin on wings for over 20 years, this place is one of my favorites. The service is decent & the place looks clean.
