Have been going to Toronto for something like 5 years and usually eat here at least twice a trip. Food is very reasonable considering comparables, i.e. a famous hot dog place that also does corned beef/pastrami and where a lunch of a sandwich, very small (albeit yummy) potato salad and a large drink cost over $20 w/tax/tip. We go here, have my sandwich and drink, my girl has a pizza or a whatever and a Caesar. That usually runs $31-33 with tax/tip. When ordering from the delightful desert stand, it pushes your bill a considerable amount but is well worth the price! We have always found the staff extremely friendly and service to be excellent, even when the restaurant is incredibly busy. Read more

My husband,and I came upon this restaurant last year. We have lived here for 30 married years, and never new it existed. We received a coupon in the mail, and gave it a try. So happy we did! The atmosphere is homey, and every waitress we have had is happy, and always smiling, and checks on you, to make sure eeverything is ok. The food is tasty, and not greasy. I read many reviews from many places and decided I didn't want to visit this place, after bumping into a friend who had RAVE reviews I decided to give it a shot and dam I am GLAD! The eating area decor is old and not meant to impress, but many reviews said it was dirty I did NOT find that it is a truck stop. I read there are rude waitresses, well there isn't any waitresses at all so that issue was void. You order your food and wait for your number to be called is how the purchase process works. What you get is a GREAT tasting steak for a crazy value, 12oz your choice of 3 cuts NY, Tbone, or rib eye AND fries for $11.99, OR feeling more hungry 16oz same cut choices for $12.99 but no sides. I went there the first time one week ago and have been there 4 times my orders have been the 12oz special with fries and 16oz without fries all times were great. SO you love steak but can't afford the crazy prices and don't care about decor this place can't disappoint, great steak and portions for budget pricing. Read more

This is a dependable and satisfying traditional moderately priced restaurant in the heart of old Cooksville. I don't mind that the servers don't introduce themselves and that some of the customers won't have to produce ID at the Beer Store. What do those things have to do with a satisfying meal? The menu hasn't change much over the years and you certainly won't find all the latest food fads here. I've always received a cheerful greeting, prompt and caring service, generous portions of freshly prepared, steaming hot food and decent coffee.
