I have visited heaven on Earth when I discovered China Garden!! I moved to Canada in 1999, and in August I first discovered this place! Since then, it has been a love affair! The food is as good as in India!! We go here almost every month since the past 11 years!! Family owned and serving the community since 1993....the only place that can display on their menu; NO-MSG. I always drive there for the pick-up special prices. Every time I telephone & I call out the number on the menu, the son knows what meal goes with the number !! Only disappointment is that they have later week-end times for operating hours. My boyfriend and I often go here because it's the only Dim Sum we know that uses carts in Mississauga. We particularly like it as they seem to have a much wider selection (e.g. crab claws, suckling pig) than normal restaurants which serve Dim sum.
In terms of quality, I don't think they are best. I have had much better quality of food at other restaurants. Also, even though the selection is vast... What happened to the shui mai? How do you have crab claws and not shui mai?!?! (Edit: Found out you need to order the shui mai... I did and it was not good at all)
I noticed the cart ladies seem to be a bit more strange than at other restaurants... Some will FLY past you, others will scream food names right at you. It is kind of fun for me and my boyfriend to laugh about. (I should note we are both Chinese and both have gone to various restaurants for Dim Sum, and we notice the cart ladies here are particularly strange)
What I found particularly interesting is how many non-Chinese people eat here. I think it's the only Dim sum place I have seen to have such a variety of people here.
I should note that this place gets amazingly busy around noon. My boyfriend and I tend to go around 10:30 or 11 and usually find a seat quickly. If you come at 12 (especially looking for a larger table) you are doomed! haha
So to sum it up:
-Amazing and sometimes unique selection... except that the shui mai has disappeared!
-Decent food quality but not the best. E.g. The shrimp in the ha gow tastes fishy, the dough fritter in the chun fun is soggy sometimes, the spare ribs in the black bean spare ribs w/rice are so boney ahhh!
-Strange cart ladies lol. Sometimes rude, sometimes friendly
-Get there before 12 if you don't like waiting! It's actually more normal to eat Dim sum earlier in the day anyway :).
Also, it seems one reviewer on here stated that the adults and kids are noisy. This is normal for a Chinese restaurant, especially as one as big as Emerald.

I decided to give this place a chance. I had an amazing experience. The waitress/bartender Victoria if I’m not mistaken gave great recommendations. Victoria was professional, friendly, understanding and always had a smile on her face willing to assist. She came often to check up to make sure the food and everything was going well, and I really appreciated that. The cove fried rice was definitely a hit. I recommend this place to everyone, request to speak to Victoria, you won’t be disappointed.

I liked this place since 10 years ago. They always serve good quality food, with reasonable price. Every time before I go to airport or back to Canada, I always visit this nice place. The location is very convenience. I try a lots of Asian buffet around the world, this one is my favourite one. It’s already getting so popular around Asian tourist and flight attendants. Went to Dim Sum New years morning at 11:00 the restaurant was 1/4 full by 11:45 it was lined up outside.
Food was very good and portion sizes were good.
Staff was very friendly and smiling. Food came very quick and we ate a lot total bill was $49.95 total for 4 of us.

Here is my unbiased unpaid for review after visiting the restaurant last night. This is a high quality, high end buffet. Where other buffets people eat at and do not complain because a lower food quality is expected for buffet this restaurant surpassed all my expectations. One of the best restaurants I have been to in GTA. For the price paid the food is 10/10, ambiance 10/10 and service 10/10.

I really like this restaurant. It will have your order ready within 10 minutes. If I'm ever working from home or just don't have time to cook, this is very quick and feasible option. The other day, I placed an order for a slightly spicy meal and went home. I found the meal too spicy for my taste so I asked if I could get a milder version. They just asked me to bring the original meal back & they provided me a fresh meal according to my liking within 10 minutes. Now, that's good customer service. By the way, the prices are pretty good during lunch time.
