“There’s a collector for everything,” says Carmen Chemello owner of Caviar & Cobwebs Garage Sale. “Furniture, art, jewellery, books, nostalgia. We’ve been selling an eclectic mixture of large and small collectibles since 1995.”
As an antique and nostalgia store that offers consignment to the public, Carmen sells just about everything you can imagine: on offer are collectibles from the early 1800s through to the retro ’70s. “We attract a range of clientele,” she says. “We have high-end collectors looking for that rare item, but we also have young people who want to accent a certain corner of their home with a one-of-a-kind piece. They aren’t so concerned with rarity but rather are seeking a look.”
