Food and atmosphere excellent

Charming atmosphere, beautiful chandeliers and old stone walls covered with vintage black and white photos. The food was excellent, and our server was absolutely lovely. A bit pricey, but really a wonderful experience overall. One thing to note is the two-hour limit on dining, which is best to know about in advance. If you have a group that wants to reunite, two hours is kind of short, but that's the policy.

La Vecchia Italian Ristorante My boyfriend and I visted La Vecchia on September 25 at 6:00 pm. We ordered a bottle of red wine and order the grilled calamari appetizer, both were excellent. We placed our order for our entrees; I ordered the seafood risotto and my boyfriend order seafood linguine. When our order was brought to our table, the presentation was disappointing to start. They brought me a mushroom risotto which I did not order, however I did try it and it was very bland and flavourless. My boyfriend's dish was also a disappointment. The server came back to our table and I explained to her I was given the wrong dish and my boyfriends dish was tasteless. It was a can of tomatoes mixed with the pasta. The server apologized and took the dishes back to the kitchen. I explained to her that I love this restaurant and I frequent it often so I asked if it was a different cook in the kitchen and her response was yes. The new dishes were brought out to us. Now I didn't receive the risotto but rice with seafood, again tasteless and bland. My boyfriends dish they added garlic and butter huge disappointment. We were not happy. The owner of the restaurant brought out the box of risotto and told me this is what they use and it is the best risotto. That's fine but this is not risotto. Risotto is a creamy and my dish I could pick each kernel individually, therefore not risotto. In any event we received our bill with the full charge for the entrees which we did not eat. The Owner had no class and definitely no customer service skills. I was very disappointed with his actions dismissing my dissatisfaction after knowing I was a regular customer. La Vecchia will no longer be receiving my business.

Best Italian food in Toronto

Conveniently located on Yonge Street north of Roehampton. Easy to get to by subway. Lots of public parking around if you drive. The food is the best Italian ever, and I have eaten in Italy. Most professional waiters that really make you feel special without hovering. Divine desserts.

Went with my family and Mother for the Victoria Day Weekend. Was quite surprised how nice the place is. The entrance door is apparently imported from Italy and is about 400yr old! Great service, no one complained about the tip (we gave about 13%). All male waiters, very polite, attentive without being annoying. Fast service considering how busy they were. Parking is somewhat of a problem, but that's Toronto. Good food, well presented, would certainly return.

Romantic dinner spots around Yonge and Eglinton Toronto

Romantic dinner spots around Yonge and Eglinton Toronto

Modern Italian food meets old-world charm, starting with the gorgeous brick and wood exterior. Inside, the décor is stunning, with its stone walls and bar, delicate chandeliers, hardwood flooring, sumptuous leather chairs and a red velvet curtain that separates the front and back rooms. The best seats are near the front, especially on warm evenings when the glass doors stay open to let in the breeze. Bello.

Awesome Toronto spots and Yonge & Eglinton for your hunger

La Vecchia does class Italian cuisine in a traditional setting. Romantic lighting and intimate feel make it a popular first date destination and the delicious food brings diners back year after year. The ravioli de niro is a popular choice among patrons, as is the seafood linguini.
